Just in case it was missed by those interested, Section B, Page 1, has some quotes about the proposed development on the north end of Guana, called Passerine, which imply to me that it is very close to being approved and proceeding soon.

The article says:

Prime Minister Christie "referred to the $500 million, 500 acre Passerine upscale housing project with an 18-hole golf course and marina on Guana Cay as a "substantial infusion of capital into the economy of Abaco"...."construction should be able to proceed shortly". (seems Prime Minister Christie has personally given the project his blessing. Now it's subject to affirmation of Members of Parliament.)

Pat W. has already stated that the project has now been approved. Wasn't the best news I have ever heard...

Peach:
Missed that post from Pat W. Sounds imminent.
Sorry we're going to miss you all again. Hope to cross paths very soon.
Have a good trip when you're there later in November!

This is very disheartening news about the Passerine Project. If they are to built this massive development it's going to ruin the charm of the island and most likely will be extremely detrimental to the marine enviroment. If they are to get approval and build I hope that they downsize the project so it won't ruin the island and surrounding waters.

Let's hope things are amended before they proceed!
