The hearing on the Air Sunshine accident over a year ago was held today and the results may be viewed in the synopsis at http://www.ntsb.gov/events/boardmeeting.htm#previous.
According to the NTSB, not much was done right.

It will be interesting to read the complete report, and not only the summary. What surproses me, that no mention is made of the proximity of the Deepwater Cay airfield, which is more or less on the approach path to TCB when coming from FLL.
The Bahamas CAA will read this report with great interest, and hopefully the FAA and DOT will come to the proper conclusions. There is much more to this story.

Here is a little bit about this accident

One astonishing fact is, that Bahamian courts did allow the company to resume service to The Bahamas (after an appeal was filed).
On the other side, the NTSB did put its fingers on the weak spot of the maintenance issue by indicating that the FAA oversight personnel was based in San Juan PR, and not where the majority of maintenance was taking place (FLL).

One of the flight tracking web sites reports a Cessna Golden Eagle 421 tail # N314AB owned by a Tropical International Airlines, Inc.[B] departing GSH (Goshen Municipal) (Indiana) on 02/19/04 @ 10:48 AM and arriving at LOT (Lewis University outside Chicago) at an unspecified time that day.

Was this plane flying or do you have to file flight plan when a plane is moved on a flat bed trailer??
