I am looking at flying into MHH on Saturday. I was going to fly air sunshine but they are closed till Sunday for airline repairs. I would appreciate any info you all have for other airlines and approx prices. I will be flying out of either Ft Lauderdale or West Palm. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Try Yellow Air Taxi out of the FL Jet Center. I think around $200. Had good luck with them myself.

Thanks for the info. I have checked with yellow taxi. I can use them as a last resort. They only have one flight on Saturday leaving at like 750am and that will be rough cause I have to drive down from Orlando the night before.

I will call them all tomorrow as they are closed now. I can find web pages for all but FCA. Do you have any contact info for them?

FCA is new (as far as I know). I saw they had a booth at the Marsh Harbor Airport when I was leaving. I think it's Florida Costal Airlines.

It is probably because I would be flying on such short notice.

Yes, big difference last minute.... by the way, Island Express (Joyce) told me yesterday they would fly home/property owners for $215.00 right now ...not sure but it sounded reasonable... that was from Lauderdale

I wouldn't consider flying Air Sunshine. All they do is broker flights as they aren't allowed to fly into the Bahamas anymore unless that has changed quite recently.

if you are departing from orlando, why not consider vintage .... they fly out of orlando, daytona, etc, and are very very reliable. a little bit more $$ (a standard rate) however once you consider your time travelling, and parking etc, it might be more reasonable.
can any one provided contact information - phone # or e-mail

I flew vintage in July. They are a great airline. However they are 200 one way and some of the airlines run 200ish round trip from Ft Lauderdale so considering I have family down there. The drive time and 40 bucks on gas to see some extra family makes it worth saving 150 dollars. But when I am sshort on time and need to fly from Orlando Vintage is def the way I go.

FCA Florida Coastal Airlines has flights from FLL and has lowered some seats down to $79.00 each way plus tax. They are trying to help folks get to and from the Abacos for rebuilding in advance to the winters season. FLYFCA.com or gulfstream or American Eagle from Miami.
hope this helps

I think Vintage is the best thing. Everything is easier - parking, checking in at both locations, and customs. Vintage is great - plus you don't have to show up 3 hours ahead of departure.

I've flown out to MMH a few times since discovering the Abacos a few years back. I am well aware of "flying on island time" and since I am on vacation, we take it all in stride. Except fot this year! As for me...I wouldn't ever fly Island Express again, nor would I recommend them to anyone. During our honeymoon this past June they left us stranded. We were told to buy tickets on another airline and keep the receipts and they would repay us. Well, five months later, we are still trying to get our money back ($300) for the extra tickets we bought. We have spoken with many people both there in Marsh Harbor and at the Ft. Lauderdale airport and this seems to be "Standard Operating Practice" at IE. In contrast, the folks at Florida Coastal Ailines (FCA) were more than accomodating in getting us on a flight last minute due to our predicament.

On another subject...Have fun on your vacation Pat W! It was great to finally meet you and your husband back in June. Hope to see you next year!
