I just got back from Guana tonight. I had time to take a look and make some notes on damage for most of the second home owners. If you have not heard any information on your house email me at brockpinder@yahoo.com. If you had major damage I did take pictures. Note this was only a external look. I cannot comment on inside conditions as water did make it way into many peoples houses that I talked to down there. I think the caretakers are getting around.

Not sure if I got everybody but give me a shout and I'll let you know. The blanket statement I can make is if you have a shingled roof be ready to do some repair and get the paint brushes out from the sandblasting.

Hi, we are John & Bobbie Walters & our place on Guana is "Lost Corner." We got word after the first storm that our place came out OK then, but we haven't heard a word since Ivan.
Thanks for the opportunity for any information. We still haven't been able to contact our caretaker, Donna Sands, so any info would be great. Our house is just west of town just past Lisa Roberts. We are directly across from Falk's Hill. I think our gate blew down in the first hurricane. If you do have any information we would really appreciate hearing from you. I intend to go over as soon as I can get some idea of what's happening. We survived Floyd with minimal damage but I don't know if our luck can hold for three in a row.

Thanks again for any information you may have. If you don't have anything specific, I'd appreciate any ideas about how to get in touch with Donna, or anyone else for that matter.

Kathy, when I tried to email you it kept getting bounced back to me.

Kathy, you got an accurate report. A lot of shingles
on the tree house off and some on the others. I did
not take pictures because they all looked in pretty
good shape. I do believe there is flashing and gutter
damage if I remember correctly. Vegetation got it bad
everywhere. Everyone seems to be getting back on there
feet. I would think you should just bring stuff you
need. Bring a case of bug repellent!!!!!!!! The only
thing that I would have liked to have brought with me
is a power washer. Sand everywhere.

Let me know if you have anymore questions!

We got great news that our trip is on to Dolphin Beach Resort 0n 10/28. Besides the restaurant at DBR and Nippers, can anyone suggest any other good places to eat
that might be open than? Halloween is on Sunday- Is Nippers doing anything special
that Sunday at their infamous Pig roast. Any info. to help us with our stay would be appreciated. This is our first time there. Also what other cays are good to explore?
Thanks Linda

We will be at DBR on 11/5. Too bad Guana Seaside Village is not going to be open until later. They are still fixin' up from the storms. It's a great place to have Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner, and a drink anytime.
Other places on Guana that may be open on Guana are Orchid Bay's Restaurant, and Capt'n Easy's Guana Sunset Grill. He serves up a great "Guana Grabber", and burgers and dogs on the grill. He's also been known to have terrific Pot Luck Dinners.

All other Cays are great to explore. They each have their own personalities.
Advise you talk to Troy at Diva Guana right there at DBR's dock. Take a trip w/him. He has great snorkeling/diving trips and is a wealth of information. Maybe rent a boat too and explore on your own.

Have a great trip!
