My son and I are going to spend a week in early June fishing out of Green Turtle Cay. We are coming over in my boat and are specifically interested in off-shore - Tuna, Dorado, whatever else. Will the fish still be around the reef during that period or will they most likely be further offshore? Anyone have any specific locations offshore (lat/lon) that they would be willing to share. I have read references to the Table Top - anyone have a location for that? In return, I would be happy to share anything I know about fishing the Chesapeake Bay or offshore out of Virginia Beach. Thanks.
You should still be able to find some Dolphin, and a Tuna or two.
Same as anywhere - watch for birds, and weed/current lines.
Probably Flat Top instead of Table Top.

Thank you very much for the coordinates. It probably is Flat Top.

If you havenÕt headed out into the ocean between the Cays in that region, only use the pass north of Manjack or to the south, the pass north of Whale Cay. Any others can get you in trouble without local knowledge. YouÕll see what I mean when you check the charts in DodgeÕs Cruising Guide to the Abacos.

Man this board rocks! I have never seen anyplace where somebody posted their fishing numbers.
Now if I can tell a fishermen's lie, a good time to fish is overnight over humps, canyons, riptides, and in the current eddies. Preferably all on relatively calm conditions. Fish may seem scarce during the day but they are there and will wake up early - sometimes they follow this summertime rhythm:
* Large tuna/sword 0400 - 0500
* Small tuna 0500 - 0600
* Other pelagic 0600 - 0700
This is a trend and not real times. Any of you folks seen this kind of thing, big fish hitting before dawn? Sound the breakfast bell! /Sam
