I have been coming to Treasure Cay since I was 7 in 1976, but in May I will come for the first time with my (will be then) 8 month old twins. I assume the grocery store will be well stocked with baby food. Can anyone confirm?

mother of twins..[now almost 15..] i cant speak for Treasure Cay store[ though it has been recently re-vamped]but you will find a good selection in Marsh Harbour ,in all the supermarkets.[.so the one in Treasure should be the same ]
i would bring a few jars with you ,as a back up for first 24hrs..or so..] good luck and enjoy..

Wow - my hats off to you, we travelled last year with our 11 month old, and then again this year, and it is a challenge (BUT SO WORTH IT), i can't imagine twins

We did most of our shopping in Marsh Harbour, We brought our own formula, but bought 90% of the jared food / treats at the store, along with Diapers. If cost is a real issue for you, bring diapers from home (they are quite expensive i found). We shopped at Solamans and found them to have a great selection of food, different brand names then i was use to (canadian), but Shay loved all of it.

Good luck!!!

yeah, the travel portion is a bit daunting. we have not travelled by air with them yet. but considering they were born in memphis while we were displaced by katrina, this should be a piece of cake, right? Not. But whats half a days travel compared to a week in Treasure Cay. plus we are taking a babysitter to help out.

I picked up diapers in FL on our way to Hope Town, crammed them here and there in our luggage. Then shopped in Marsh Harbour and found them cheaper than what we paid in FL. Who would have guessed.

Dont count on the TC grocery store. It has grown in size but has become erratic and is often out of common items, when more exotic and less useful stuff is on the shelf. (Maybe that's why its still on the shelf!) For example, recently there was no milk, butter, peanut butter, bread, eggs....but if you want "organic" canned pigeon liver, its probably there. As far as baby food is concerned, they'll have it, but it may not be what you want. Same with diapers. ;)

Certainly Mom is the gutsy one, but this is Dad writing. I remember the grocery store as having spotty availability in the past, but have noticed it improve over the past few years. Thanks for the info.

oh and as for the organic canned pigeon livers, excellent, who needs peanut butter.
