Hello everyone..
we will not have a boat so we were wondering.....do you think it will be
easy to hitch a ride to and from the lighthouse??? I hope so..my son
is looking forward to climbing it....
thanks in advance for any info/input....

thanks for replying...we will be on Elbow
so dont really want to go back to MH for ferry.
I was told that being that everyone is soooo friendly, we
might be able to hitch a ride to/from....guess we'll just have to wait
and see and wing it...

Sorry, didn't realize you were already staying on Elbow. Will you have a cart?

yes we will....
after giving it alot of thought ... we decided against the boat ...my husband broke his back last year and he's nervous about the bumps/wakes of motor boats...we are sailors and that's alot smoother ride for his back.....
will definitely do a boat next time though....

I would think you could grab a ride pretty easy. Just got back form Elbow after a 2 week stay and many people have little boats buzzing around the harbor all day long. Lots of fun, good luck.

The ferry drivers have always been very good about picking you up on the Hope Town side and dropping you off at the lighthouse, even if they don't have a drop off over there at the time. If one drops you off, he'll tell the next ferry in or out to pick you up.

When we stay in Hopetown our dock is close to the grocery store dock & we always would give anyone who needed a ride a lift to the other side. We'd regulary bring a rider back before heading out, too. Just hang around the pier & ask for a lift. There's way too many friendly people to not get a ride. Remember to remove your ski mask before boarding, though.
