This is what I know..
Power on over most of the island...some repairs need to be made in certain areas..
Cellphones...from what I understand is HIT & MISS.
Telephones...We are able to call out and receive overseas calls since late Thursday/ early Friday. There have been times when the circuits were either down or all busy. Be patient and keep trying!
DSL..up and running.
Mailboat has been in. We do have food and water..maybe not everything your heart desires, but we will manage!
Harvey's Island Grill is open for business. McIntosh, Sundowners doing repairs. Laura's Kitchen was doing TAKEOUT BEFORE JEANNE.. Not sure if they are doing sit down yet!
Plymouth Rock is open for business....
Hope this helps!!!

Batelco came out this morning with a bucket truck and they were working all day on the telephones. Both my lines are now working . Neither has worked since francis so we have progress with the phone service here on Guana.

Thank you Batelco !!!!!!!!

We are still on our BEC generator on island and other than a little noise it is working great for us.

And of course , our internet is back up. Sinclair has got us back online and OII is up as well.

Blue Water Grill is back open 5 nights a week. Guana Beach Resort is open for cocktails and of course Nippers never missed a beat. They never even closed through the repairs.

Dolphin Beach, Seashore Villas , Oceanfrontier Hideaways and Guana Beach Resort have rooms available and most of the rental homes on the island are ready to go. Orchid Bay has slips . The grocery store is well stocked .

The trees are growing some new leaves and things are pretty much cleaned up. I went out to the reef at Fowl Cay for a couple of dives and the reef has survived very well. It is truly amazing to see that the reef could stand up to those large waves and not be destroyed. The water was a little muddy after Jeanne passed through for almost 2 weeks but it has cleared up quite nicely and there was almost 100 foot of visibility yesterday.

Landline phones are working (but go off in some areas when power is cut).

Cell phone service is also working but lower than normal signal strength.

Power is on but is being occassionally shut down for 1-2 hours for BEC line work.

Only dial-up internet currently available, no normal-speed.

Grocery stores are all open and stocked as usual for this time of year.

Seaspray, Capt. Jacks and Lodge all open for lunch and dinner.

Abaco Inn and On Da Beach expected to open shortly. Edge will be a bit longer but they are making steady progress rebuilding.
Rudy's Place and Cracker P's are still closed for their normal holidays but expected to open as per their schedule.

Lighthouse only works at night.

"Only dial-up...no normal-speed"

A real sign of the times, isn't it, that dial-up is not the normal speed Internet connection.
