This afternoon I rec'd an email from a Board of Director member of Abaco Towns in MHH.
Chris Smith was able to get a cell call out to her (with diificulty) from Sandy Point and give a preliminary report on damage.
First, everyone is fine. Thank God!
1) The resort is closed for 3 weeks, not because of damage, but due to the lack of essential services, power, phone, etc.
2) There was no flooding or storm surge to any units.
3) There was some roof damage to the hillside bldg.
4) 1 window broken in the hillside bldg.
5) Ceiling damage in 2 beachfront units from the rain being driven thru the roof soffits.
6) There is a general cleanup of the units/bldgs/beachfront going on now.
7) Maintenance crews doing repairs now.
Thanks go out to Chris Smith and staff for preparing so well for these hurricanes!
