Could one of the moderators please do a sticky on the status of the Marinas in the area? I am particularly interested in Harbour View, as we keep our boat there all year.
I'm sure other boaters might be interested as well.
Thanks

They have a barge at Harbour View taking up what is left of the docks. There is a picture on a current thread. I do not know what they did with the boats that were there.

Thanks for the information and the pictures. Our boat was moved to Treasure Cay. No idea how it fared. I guess bad news is better than no news at all. The damage is shocking. Thankfully no was seriously injured or killed.

Hi Rick,
HVM, Mangoes, Port 0 Call, Conch Inn, Long's Landing and many of the private docks are destroyed beyond repair. Troy has started clearing the marina and has plans to rebuild but am not sure of timeframe. Not sure of the status of the other marinas repairs, but all need to be rebuilt. Marsh Harbour Marina survived as did Boat Harbour with minor damage.
Not sure of the status of the outer cays marinas, but will post here when we have seen and spoken to them.
Any questions, e-mail us

Just a quick note on marinas in Marsh Harbour. Just got back yesterday from Marsh. All marinas excluding Marsh Harbour Marina and Boat Harbour had extensive damage. Port of Call, Harbour View, Mangoes and Conch Inn will all have to be rebuilt, as far as the docks are concerned. I am the wife of the owner of Harbour View Marina and we have already begun our rebuilding process. Harbour View also had 2.5 feet of water in our office building, so everything in the office has to be replaced i.e. phones, computers, fax, we hope to have the office back up and running soon. From what we have heard, all the boats that Troy took to Treasure to ride out the storm did o.k.

What a relief to hear that everyone survived with few injuries. As an annual boat visitor we were concerned with the welfare of our Bahama friends. The post by Jan Hastings (Cornea) was most appreciated. I know that Troy will rebuild bigger and better. I laughed when I read in one of the early posts. That the person writing the message said that there was a barge already working on the pilings at Harbour View Marina. I know that Troy is pretty resourceful but finding a barge and starting working on his pilings so quickly should really set a precedent for all of the Abacos. I am sure Henry, Troy’s dock dog was on front of the barge giving direction. And the Abacos will rise again, more beautiful than ever Our prayers are with you. Burt
