Interesting news as per the latest edition of the Abaconian. Bahamasair will launch a new service FLL-MHH ON Nov. 17, flying on Thursday and Sunday.
Thursday's schedule will be 1300-1345 (FLL-MHH) and 1415-1500 (MHH-FLL).
Sunday's schedule will be 1305-1350 (FLL-MHH) and 1450-1535 (MHH-FLL).
This will be a challenge for some smaller charter companies, especially as Bahamasair will offer some inaugural fares. These inaugural fares will contribute to deepen the losses of this company (even at high load factors)
Until the new facilities in MHH will be operational, this could be fun to process these flights (esp. the Sunday flight), but you will be on "Island time"
For more info, please se the Abaconian (edition November 1, 2005).
If done correctly, Bahamasair could attract some specific tourist groups such as surfers and others with slightly larger equipment.

Now, if Bahamasair (or someone) would get smart and fill the gap on (non-stop) service to Abaco from Orlando that was vacated first by US Air, then Vintage.....there are many visitors to Abaco who don't live in South Florida, and Orlando has a lot of traffic from yankee-land, too.

Since most house rentals in the out islands are Saturday to Saturday, I wonder who is going to fill up these flights.

Vintage no longer flies out of Orlando? I have been checking online, but their site is under construction....
Thanks,
