I spoke to my husband on Guana tonite about 9 pm EST - he said he was hunkered down and it was still fairly quiet. He was under the impression the hurricane would not hit Abaco until late Saturday, but I told him it would be sooner. Power had been shut off on Guana earlier in the day, and the water level on the Sea of Abaco side was washing over the low spots on the road to the houses on Crossing Bay. We are due to talk again tomorrow around 9 am EST. If we connect, and if anyone wants information I would be glad to convey what I know.

I just spoke with my husband who is at Boat Harbour and he told me the stars were out tonight. Windy but not horrible yet. Surf is up but not as bad as Frances was at this same point in time.

Its really blowing now at GTC. I'm sure it will only get worse from now on! Power was off for about 20 - 30 minutes, but seems OK now. The 11 o'clock path shows the eye passing along North Abaco and not at all on Grand Bahama! But who knows...
Stay safe!

Boat Harbour is well protected at this point from the north winds now coming in since they are are the lee side of the hill that runs on Pelican shores. Boat Harbour will feel the winds when the eye passes and the south winds start to blow. I am currntly on the north side of the hill on Pelican shores and it is getting pretty gusty on this side.
