My heart goes out to all of you as I watch the storm track of Jeanne. It has been a tough year for all of us that have enjoyed the Abacos and the SE waters. As I reported earlier, Voyager, on the hard at Harbortown Marine, was knocked over by Francis. It took ten days to get someone aboard, as I am 3000 miles away and couldnt get there, and it was not a pretty sight. Apparently the storm driven rain somehow found it's way into the boat, and as she lay on her port side, filled up to the windows. I have yet to see the full report, but apparently there is extensive wood damage, cushions, electronics, personal gear etc. So there she sits, growing a healthy crop of mold I am told. I am making arrangements to have her shipped to Anacortes Washington where she will be close enough to Spokane that I can supervise repairs. I will, I think, cruise the waters of British Columbia and the San Juan and Gulf Islands. It is not like cruising the Bahamas, which I will dearly miss (after a total of 12 summers), but there are no hurricanes. And so I, like you all, will watch Jeanne and pray that loss of life and property is minimal. Good luck.file:///C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/Randy/Desktop/2004%20storms/voyager/DSCN0635.JPG

hi this is heidi from pittsburgh. we "spoke" last year i think it was. i was asking you about pulling the kids out of school for a trip to hopetown..... i am so sorry to hear about your loss-both your boat and your trips to abaco. i had explored the possibility of purchasing property when i was there in april..... obviously i will have to rethink. i was operating under the assumption well floyd hit so we have "x" number of years before the next biggie. good luck to you and your family.

So sorry about your boat, Randy. We hope some insurance coverage and a little good luck will get your boat ship-shape again.

Thank you all. I am sure that my plight and experience pales in comparison to what everyone in the Abacos and Florida are going through. I keep telling myself that it is only my boat and not my life that is damaged and in jeprody. Ironically if Voyager were totaled I would be in a better position. Moving the boat 3000 miles and trying to undertake repairs is a major undertaking. My heart continues to go out to all. (A side bit of irony, is, my wife of 26 years spells her name "Jeanne".)
I still have been unable to post a pic. I'll try to find Dr Ralphs e mail address and send it to him. perhaps he'll have better luck, as all I get when I click on the photo logo that looks like a pic of mountains I get an Explorer prompt that calls for the URL location, and when I put in the desktop url it looks like it comes up in the message but when I send it all it does is print the text URL. nothing about "manage the attachments".
Well, be safe everyone.

All the best Randy, we have all enjoyed your travel logs and I hope you will continue to post them from the waters of the Pacific NW! And everyone who's fallen in love with the Abacos knows, YOU WILL BE BACK!!
