For those of you who knew my father in-law, Mr. Percy. I am sad to inform everyone that he passed away around 2 am this morning. Because of the impending storm, he will be buried sometime today and a memorial service will be held on a day to be announced by the family.

Thank you,
Sidney, Pat, Josie and the family

This is a picture taken at our vow renewal in 2001. Strangely enough, this is one of the pictures that Pat W. took. What great memories!

Like everyone else, we will miss Percy's humble presence on Guana - most of all the mischevious twinkle he had in his eyes!
Percy & Josie were our first contacts on our very first visit to GGC. We arrived (overloaded with luggage) and were not met by the key-keeper as planned. Percy invited us to sit under the fig tree while he went to A LOT of effort to find the person we needed. His efforts on our be-half was our first encounter with the graciousness of the Guana citizens!
Our thoughts and sympathies to with the Weatherford family.

I really believe this. That Mr. Percy is our newest angel in Heaven and can help all of the Abacos thru this storm ( perhaps that's why God grabbed him while he could). Here in West Palm Beach we are as numb as our counterparts in Abaco - just trying to get thru the next storm. Sort of feel like the dance band on the Titanic. Our lives awaiting the next NHC 11PM report. Living minute by minute, which is probably the way we should live. Anyways, we continue to honour the life and times of Percy Weatherford. We are sorry to hear of Mr Percy's death and that the storm will be hurrying things along

We will miss him - always willing to help us solve the problem of the moment and find a work around thet would last till we could bring the part from the states.

We, too, send our condolences to Mr. Percy's family. Although we are short-time second home residents of GGC we have fond memories of Mr. Percy under the fig tree and around the settlement always with a "Good Morning" or "Hi" or a wave or nod of the head. His presence will be missed. We pray for your family at this sad time and hope that you come out on the other side of this stormy time in good spirits. Robert and Melinda Symmes

Because the board has changed format, I didn't see your thread until today. I am very sorry to hear of Sydney's dad passing. He had helped me several times in the hardware store and was a true gentleman. I hope that you folks will get a break in this weather and cleanup to properly reflect on his life.......thinking of you......Ken P

Dear Pat, Sidney, Josie & Robert,
The entire Spencer family offer our sincere condolances. Mr Percy will be fondly remembered and missed by all of us. Over the last several years there was seldom a visit where we were not greeted with a warm smile and welcome by Mr Percy, from under the fig tree, upon our arrival: and a cordial good-bye upon our departure. Our thoughts are with you all at this difficult time.

What a loss for all who knew Percy, yet what a precious addition to God’s Kingdom. Our “under the fig tree chats”, fraught with endless topics of interest, were a great highlight during our years on Guana. He was a delightful man, and will be greatly missed.
...and to Percy’s family -- God speed! John and Pamela Lindenau
