lol, Kim. I guess the NHC was wrong about that tropical wave south of Hispanola... it must have moved quite quickly and strengthened considerably!

A very high wind reading has happened before and I have no idea why. Now that I am at the house with the weather station I have a bit of a clue. There is a rather large bird that has decided to spend time on the top of the flag pole that has the wind speed indicator mounted on it. I noticed that he pecked at the indicator when it was calm. I wonder if this has caused the odd readings. In any case I am going to put something on top of the pole to encourage the bird to spend time else where.
