Hello,
We arrive in Marsh Harbour end of the week and will be cruising the Abacos islands. We will be schlepping along 3 boys, 17, 18 and 24, will be doing alot of snorkeling, possibly some diving. I need some recommendations of places/restaurants not to miss. We like local flair, food and fun! Thanks so much your recommendations are greatly appreciated!

Regards,
Kathy

Great, each w/own special personality ambience and great food:

1) Nipper's - on fabulous beach w/Sunday pig roast, famous "Nipper" drink, w/pools
2) Guana Sunset Beach Bar - on sea side-great sunset, burgers and "Guana Grabber" rum drink, w/pool
3) Guana Seaside Village - beautiful view right on sea side, great folks, "Jolly Bob" rum drink, and tasty local fare, w/pool
4) Blue Water Grill - air conditioned inside when needed. Beautiful atmosphere and top notch food and drink, right overlooking the sea side.

Enjoy!

Jaime's Place in Marsh Harbour. Family restaurant w/Great breakfast, lunch & dinners at good prices. Hand dipped ice cream!! No alcohol. Many locals eat there, owners & staff VERY friendly.

1. Sunday pig roast at Nippers- around noon. Great bbq, music, drinks for grown ups, pool for kids, beach and reef right off shore to snorkel. Touristy, but fun.
2. Snorkel Mermaid reef just off Marsh harbour( great fish, easy for any level snorkeler)- should be on local area maps.
3. Snorkel off of Tilloo bank south of the castle- solid sand bottom with huge starfish everywhere, this leads down to Pelican Cays park- do not take any fjish or shells, etc. with you- park area.
4. Captain Jacks- to eat in Hopetown, and also Harbors Edge- great food and kid friendly, too.
5. If you are up to the boat ride, go down to Petes Pub for food and rockin /wild beach.( take a cooler with lots of extra snacks and drinks- can get quite hot while there)
Have a great time!

We got to MH fairly early before our flight a couple of years ago and ate at Jamie's Place. We highly recommend it!

When I said the beach at Pete's was rockin/wild (the side behind Petes facing Atlantic)- I meant naturally wild- not teens gone crazy wild. Just wanted to clarify.

Yep....make sure you get to Petes Pub if you want a taste of a real eclectic island style shipwreck bar......but beware of the blasters!
