I have a 24' Grady White in Hopetown and am considering moving farther south to Eleuthra and ultimately to Georgetown Exuma. Have had a tough time finding anyone who knows much about the passage from Hole in the Wall to Spanish Wells??? Please advise if you know anything about the run......

I have only made the trip from Spanish Wells to Abaco. The coral heads and entrance North side of Spanish Wells require good conditions re light, so time your trip.

If you take the Egg Island Cut the entrance to Spanish Wells is fairly easy. If you decide to go in at Bridge Point there are several pilots that will come out and meet you and drive your boat in. I highly recommend this for the first time in. It can get pretty scary through the Devil's Backbone. Three of the pilots call signs are Cinnabar 242-333-4079, Little Woody 242-333-4433, and A-1 Broadshad. Call a day ahead because they are very busy or you can reach them on VHF 16 when you get close.
