We had our vacation cut in half as a result of the Hurricane, and had to quickly vacate the cottage we were renting on Guana, get our rental boat back over to Marsh, and try to re-arrange our return flight. This was Wednesday, 9/1.
Special thanks to Rich's Rentals, who came over to Guana when we could not get our boat started, for their usual excellent service, and for giving us credit for the days we could not use the boat because of the Hurricane.
Special thanks to Ernestine Bootle, Taxi Service #115 or #30, for taking us to the airport, bringing us back to Marsh when we had a 6 hour wait for the next available flight out that day, for keeping our luggage all day long in her cab, so that we could be in town without having to drag it with us, and then picking up up one more time to take us back to the airport.
Special thanks to Wally's Restaurant for being the only place open that day for lunch. We not only ate there, but stayed there all day long until our trip back to the airport.
The 5 days we did spend on Guana before Frances came were magical as ever, and we are grateful for that.
