Can anyone give us an update on Guana Seaside?

I talked to Mags ( one of the nuns ) this am, she talked to Pat W , We understand that there was heavy damage to the main building. I don't know
details but it seems that a good part of the roof was damaged and the bar area
was destroyed. :( We all hope the repair is not too hard on all the folks involved.

I was there during the big blow (Frances). Mostly shingles blown off and some water intrusion in some of the rooms. Lots of roof work to come. Also some Coconut trees down.The bar area was NOT destroyed, only roof work.

That's a relief. We plan on having a few Kaliks there in 12 days.

Thanks for the firsthand info! We have a November stay at Seaside planned and can not wait to get back to the Abacos.

Now if we can just blow Jeanne out to the east....

Glad to hear that the damage is not that bad,, Those poor coconut trees ,they never last,,LOL,, I hear that the beaches are better,( more sand ) anyone have any info??

Guana Seaside is HOPING to be able to re-open in November! The insurance adjuster has been there but Bob is still waiting to hear back from them. The dining room area has extensive roof damage, its covered with a large tarp. Ceilings have fallen in several rooms, water damage, sand everywhere. Bob's yellow house was sand blasted, water damaged and there is sand all inside of it and part of the roof is gone. Some may not consider this major damage but I talked to Bob and he feels its major to him. There is still no phone service to Seaside and as of yesterday there was still no power. I'll get with Bob and see if his power came on when BEC hooked the big generator on last night.

The bar is still standing! Roof damage, sand, water damage. Tell you what, I'll try and get down there and get some pictures. I've tried several times to post pictures but it hasn't worked but I could send them to you direct, ok?
