I have a small construction project I need to have done at our Villa in Treasure Cay. Do any of you have some data on what the hourly rate should be for carpenters?

A good skilled carpenter in Abaco will charge at least $30-$35/hour. Only problem is we are in a construction boom again after the hurricanes so getting a carpenter may mean someone working after 1700 or on weekends and they may charge more. As well be wary of individuals professing to be good carpenters and charging like good carpenters ...... because if there are good carpenters out there without day jobs right now something is wrong because everyone contractor I know is hiring and paying good $$ because all the good carpenters (I am getting redundant here) "should" be working full time day jobs. suggested rates seem very high to me. in the MH area, skilled carpenters can be found for $20-25 or lower and they are available.
