A 27' yellow "Jupiter" Outboard with NC registration was stolen last night or early this morning from the Bell Channel in Freeport. The boat has twin 200 yahama engines and the starboard engine does not work.
Anyone seeing this boat is asked to contact Joann Nicholson in Freeport at 242-373-2182 or post a message on the board.
Thank You.

Most stolen boats ( in this area ) are found in Grand Bahama. I know of about 5-6 in last couple of years all discovered in Grand Bahama with more than a couple found at the same marina. Someone I know in TC has had boat stolen 2-3 times found it twice on GB. If yours goes missing the first place to look is the western half of GB and the first marina to check is the one just east of Old Bahama Bay on the north side. If you are really pissed charter a plane and fly around GB a couple of people found their boats that way, but those boats were not painted white. I bet $100 no arrest will be made. Come to think of it, I can not remember hearing of any for boat theft. Best Fishes.

Just curious. Are these boats stripped of all their equipment when they're stolen or are they being used to get to another destination??

Electronics go first then motors or powerheads unless used for a couple of drug runs. If used for a drug run they sometimes just sink it in the deep and figure it was cost of business. less of that nowdays, mostly stripped of electronics and powerheads. last year GT shipyard had about 8-12 powerheads stolen inside their gates off of customers boats. Nice...If you have one stolen do not expect to retrieve it without some damage. Almost all of the ones I heard about lost all electronics. The scumbags even hot wired someones lift box in TC to put the boat in the water. So much for a nice quiet boat lift.

A correction to my earlier post...
The boat was found in the ocean by the coast guard with the captain and "passengers" still on board. The Coast Guard towed the boat into Fort Pierce. No word as yet as to their Nationality.
