Ah, the feeling of waking up early and knowing there are no cell phones that are going to ring today, no emails to be read, no work to be done. I get up at about 5 and fix a cup of coffee and take a short walk. My plan was to walk over to the east side of Lubbers and watch the sunrise over Tilloo cut but I was a little early and too antsy to wait! I walk down to the end of the dock and feel the wind, smell the salt and watch the waves roll across the sea of abaco. This is going to be a windy and cloudy day today according to BB, and we decided with the south wind kicking up the waves it would be a good day to get settled and relax at home. We had some other friends coming in on Sunday so we walked down to Sea Level to see if their trip was as eventful as ours. They drove to WPB from NC and their flight was fine but their luggage was gone. Therefore, they had acquired quite a wardrobe from the CP's gift shop Sunday. We spent some time at the house and just enjoying the warm temps. I took a swim off the end of the dock for a flip flop that made its way into the sound, and while trying to retrieve it I lost my sunglasses. At least I got the flop back. We spent the evening talking and laughing about our misadventures and hoping that the weather would clear up for us tomorrow, which BB assured us it would. Another beautiful wake-up Tuesday and the sun was out. The wind had died down some today, and we decided after Cruisers net to head to HT for some groceries, some much needed beer and some hanging out at the Harbour Lodge beach. We also went to Capn Jacks for a REAL breakfast! We stopped by Vernons to make sure he was going to make some Key Lime pies today and we were in luck. We put our order in for 2 and headed to the Lodge. The ocean was flat calm today and the snorkeling was great off the beach. This was our first time swimming off Elbow and we wondered why more people dont mention it. Well, the secrets out and if you want to snorkel this is the place. We drank some Kaliks, enjoyed the scenery and warm water and decided around 2 that we would do some shopping. Stopped at HarbourView and picked up some things, then to Vernons for the pies and another few things we couldnt find at HV. Two cases of Kalik Gold, a fifth of Coconut rum and we were ready to head back to the house. Sean and I spent the rest of the afternoon snorkeling for conch while the girls stayed at the house and had some "girl talk". We came up with several mature conchs and had some fun busting the meat out of them for fishing the next day. Another great sunset, a nice homemade lasagna brought from home (yes, in our COOLER!) key lime pie and a movie (finding nemo) put us right to sleep. We have a fishing trip planned for tomorrow so we need our rest for that big catch we KNOW we're going to get!
