Messages are starting to appear requesting information about specific property damage. Before someone get's angry about a lack of consideration, let's all remember to be thoughtful. There are lives in danger there as well as our property. The islands are what they are because of, in part, the people. Friends and family are in harms way right now. The reports that have been posted have been including conditions, property and persons. As conditions improve and more info becomes available more property can be evaluated. Remember, there are 100+ MPH winds and torrential rain occuring at this moment. No one is going to venture out to explore property.

My family too has property there that is sadly unprotected on the beach. There's nothing I can do but listen to the great reports coming in from the brave souls enduring the torture and hope that we excape with something. I'll be happy to hear that the people there are alright first. Then, we will all rebuild, with the help of those people, as we always do.

Everyone just hang in there. We will get more info over time. However, if the board becomes inundated with property questions we may lose it again. Some of the first hand accounts and definitely the lives of those still there are worth far more than our property.

Keep checking in on the board. If you look, you'll probably find most of what you need without asking for specifics.

May God be with everyone going through this thing...

I totally agree with you. We need to worry about the people who stayed and worry about the property later. Like you said, you can always rebuild but you cannot get a life back that is lost to this terrible storm.

My prayers and thoughts are with all Abaconians and all affected by Frances.

I've made a lot of friends in Treasure Cay over the years. I also have a house there but I would offer it to the ocean if I could guarantee the safety of the residents of Abaco. I can always rebuild the house.

you are so right - things are things, people can't be replaced.
for those of us who are 'fair weather' residents, it would be nice to take a moment and think about and thank the folks who are there year round. they make it possible for us to return year after year.

Agreed - while I own nothing in Abaco, I would imagine that knowing about any property damage tonight, or tomorrow, would not do any property owner much good anyway. What could you do about it? There will plenty of time for that. Let's hope all our local friends and others with "interests" who are over there survive and then have the energy and the will to orchestrate yet another miraculous recovery of our little Paradise. I'm confident that as soon as the folks there can assess things they'll report as soon as possible to this "family".

It is terribly irksome to have the "Aerial photos.." thread have 40+ replies to it, all asking for photos of this location or that.... GIVE ME A BREAK!!!

My dad lives in Treasure Cay and turns 70 this December. He is by himself through this entire ordeal!! I have been "holding his hand" over the phone the 1st and 2nd of Sept, but yesterday at 6:00AM the phone started cutting out. The last I have heard of him was yesterday at 9:00AM when my sister called. I hear that local calls are still going through, but long distance isn't. I also hear that internet is up in Marsh Harbour. If this is the case, then we should be able to organize a communications network where folks online can call locally to check on loved ones who aren't online, and post the results.

Anyone over there willing and able to help out?

Nothing at all is wrong with "the people".............this gentlemman was kind enough to make an offer of photos and some folks took him up on it...........what is wrong with that????????????

I have no problem with a thread started by someone offering photos. The problem is that threads started about looking for loved ones get clogged with info about people asking about their "property". Look at "more news from tc" and you will see someone talking about their husband, and then folks jump on and ask about their "property".
