Taxi!

Flying into Marsh Harbour next week. Any idea what a taxi might cost for 6 adults to Boat Harbour Marina. Thanks

Good question! We're coming this Saturday and the last time we were there I really believe we got ripped off. We ended up paying between $80 & $100. It was the first time it's ever happened and since we didn't remeber what the going rate was we paid up. All I know is the same trip back to the airport cost a whole lot less! Are there certain taxi services that are regulated vs non regulated?

Thats the reason for my question. Have paid from 12 to 80 dollars at various times for the same trip. Seems like I saw a post recently naming a particular taxi driver or company to ask for.??

As I said -we've been to the Abacos before and this was the first time it had ever happened-I would definately say it was the exception and not the norm. I've always found everyone to be unbelievably honest and helpful.

Same here. Is that $20 for 2 and does that equate to $60 for 6?

Just came back and paid 16 both times. Both on Sunday, one Easter Sunday. Tipped a little more on Easter but all he asked for was 16. Four people and a generous amount of luggage.

All the fares from/to various points are published in The Abaconian (Abaco's local bi-weekly free newspaper). Parties of three or more cost extra per person as do additional bags. For two people from MH Airport to Boat Harbour it's approx $10-12 plus tip plus waiting time at the grocery store if applicable.

I don't know their taxi numbers, but they were the nicest taxi operators. Their rates were also very fair. I am sure if you have someone call for Rodney or Ernestine Bootle on the VHF, you won't be disappointed!
