The GTC thread was getting way too long.

I called my brother in GTC. They answered the phone! This was actually two days ago. They weren't sure if they could call out though. They said their dial-up Internet was down but wireless was up??????? Doesn't seem to make sense. Anyway, they are busy cleaning up. He said he has been putting in 12 hour days helping out.
One interesting note.....he said the villas at the Bluff House took a significant hit. He said the porches on most of them came loose and peeled off parts of the roof allowing water to flood them.
They have power thanks to the fact that GTC never gave up its own power generating station in spite of the fact that BEC started serving the island. I also heard that Elbow Cay still has no power but that is third-hand info.

Thank you for the detailed report of GTC!! I understand that my mothers boat "Mamselle" is one of the boats washed up on the beach after being moored in White Sound. Do you have any information about the condition of any of these boats? My mom is curious if it looks like a total loss or if it simply needs to be put back in the water. She is having "US Boat" or someone barging it over to Lauderdale. Any information is greatly appreciated. Thank you very much and so glad to hear that the clean up is underway!!!

Seabiscuit, thanks for responding about Mamselle. It is our boat. Dharma is my daughter. Van and Jan Allen emailed us and told us the boat was WAY up on the beach. We have filed a claim but, obviously, it is hard to give Boat US any hard information on condition, although it looked a lot better than I thought it would. (I am Diane Janulis, Rusty's wife.)
Rusty will try to keep in touch. I will be in Europe for the next two weeks.
If anyone gets any more info, we would appreciate it.

Dear gatorman: I am Roger Phillips, owner of Bluff House and presently, (cowering!), in the UK. My son David has kept us very well informed and lest the owners of villas at Bluff House get concerned, in fact only two of the front porches of the Marina Villas at Bluff House suffered damage to their porches due to (apparently) corrosion of the 4 x 4 bottom fixings. Everyone should take note that the extra expense of stainless steel is well worth it these days. The newly built Yachtsman's Cottages at Bluff House all came through unscathed, other than a small amount of driven rain through the front french doors, (not too bad considering they had 36 hours of 100mph wind right on the front doors, congratulations to American Craftsman metal doors) and all the fastenigns used, every single one, was ring shank stainless steel. Bluff House suffered some shingle damage to the upper Club House, which is now 53 years old, but the Jolly Roger complex is intact and will be operational once the clean up is complete. All in all, Bluff House survived very well. Their email and telephones are up and more information can be obtained by calling them at (242) 365-4247 or fax 365-4248, email bluffhouse@oii.net.
Best of luck to everyuone.

Hello all. We are heading down to GTC in mid december to stay in the Robert's Cottages on Black sound. Any damage there?
Anything we can bring at that time? I know its a little ways off, but we'll do what we can!

I took pix of your boat from the Bluff House dock and when I get them sorted out today I will email them to you. It did not look too damaged and in my opinion could be refloated. Will get back to you probably later today. Kim

There are photo albums now available at the link below showing damage at Green Turtle Cay, a few aerials of Green Turtle and Treasure. All in all my assessment is that the damage was of a different kind than Floyd. More wind damage to those that were damaged. No storm surge damage to docks.
Lots of sandblasting!

There are three different chapters in this album available as of this writing.

Thanks for the Pics Abakimmy. Looks as if the Cruzan Lady came through relatively well. I'm heading over in a few days to take care of her and help out any way I can.
Thanks again for the pictures.
