There probably aren't any waypoints listed because it is not a defined "channel", but the passage is more of a general area. If you are passing from the north, keep the rock on your left, and Sand Bank Cays on your right. I went through the other day and saw no less than a three foot depth. It is all sand, so no obstructions other than the cays. I will check the coordinates on my GPS and email you.

Dr Ralph's page is an excellent description of the area and includes waypoints. I wouldn't attempt this route in anything but an outboard powered (or IO) boat with the capability of trimming up some draft. Certainly not in a fixed keel sail boat. I have used the inside Whale passage, and as Dr Ralph says, Don't Rock is marginally deeper.
I plan to use Don't Rock tomorrow on my way home. I have had a great winter in Abaco. So long to all my friends, including the ones I have not met.

We took our 100-footer through Don't Rock last Saturday (northbound) at low tide and returned Sunday. No problem at all - but there again we only draft about 18 inches :) . Shallowest we saw was a little under 4 feet. I have waypoints for north and south approaches to Don't Rock - e-mail me if you need them.

It's hard to miss it. Gotta love the water color on a stirred up day.

I had the pleasure of sitting beside the father of Skip Roberts - (the original developer of Leisure Lee) - at a wedding reception in Hopetown in about 1965, and asked him about the origins of some of the Abaco place-names. He told me that when he was a boy, Don't Rock was known as Don't-but-you-may Cay - (i.e. don't come through here, but you may if the tide's right and you know where the shallows are). He said that it was later shortened to Don't Cay, and eventually finished up as Don't Rock.
I wish you would post some of the stories he told you about the names of various things in Abaco, like Hope Town, for example. What little I know of the history is fascinating. I think Board readers would enjoy.
