I will be on my parent's catamaran for two weeks in April and we are wondering what the nightlife is like in the Abaco's? I will be with my girlfriend and another couple and we are all in our late 20's. I have heard all about Nipper's, but are there any other hot spots? Are the Abaco's similar to the Exuma's?

Do the bars stay open late or is it more of a happy hour scene?

Will we be able to see everything we want in 12 days?

Thanks for any help!

You will be able to see alot between Guana and Little Harbour - depending how much you party you may spend more time sleeping off the nippers from guana or blasters from Little Harbour "why walk when you can crawl?"
Hopetown's bar's closing at 12 will also help you see more of abaco in the daylight

The best partying we've done in Abaco has been on the docks with other boaters, or visiting them while anchored out. You'll meet some great people there.

We love the bar at Guana Seaside, as well as Seaspray Marina on Elbow, Pineapples on GT, Harbour's Edge in Hopetown, and Conch Inn at Marsh. Some of these places are still recovering from the hurricanes, make sure somebody in your crew gets up and listens to Cruiser's Net at 8:15, Pattie will tell you what bars and restaurants are open each day/night, and what the "specials" are.

That having been said, don't ruin a great trip by spending each morning and afternoon hanging, there's a heck of a lot of wonderful things to see and do.

Thanks for party tips on the abacos. We will be sure to call it quits early enough to avoid the dreaded hangove. We are really excited for this trip! Should we expect lots of other boats in mid April? I imagine lots of people come over from Florida....

. . . . we were up there at Nippers around 7:30pm this past Tuesday night for a cold KG and it had a small group of around 15 or so sitting around the bar. When we went back up there early Wednesday afternoon before the 2:30 ferry boat left, Troy told us that they were open until 2am that morning because the crowds kept coming and going. The music was playing and everybody was having a great time, but it was not 100 screaming people running around nekkid.

On Saturday night at Guana Seaside Village they do Karaoke. We were a small part of about 60 folks enjoying the liquids and singing until sometime around midnight. GSV seems to pick up a pretty good crowd that night as they also had BBQ ribs I think. Folks seemed to arrive in groups there as well - like anywhere from 4 to 8 on average. They also have the "ring" game there. I have a "report" to do on these folks sometime soon from this recent trip last weeekend.

Another place we've "closed down" over the years would be The Tipsy Seagull at Treasure Cay (countless times) - often Chris The Burner and his "company" provided live music for dancing until around midnight on TH, FR,SAT. It's right there "literally" in the marina and just 3-4 steps (really) from the pool - there have been a lot of evening "swims" there . . . that's all I have to say about that one......

In addition, Ray's Place at Hope Town Harbour Lodge (I believe their Karoke night is Monday). We've had lots of fun there on a few occasions and also Abaco Inn on Elbow when they have entertainment - Stone plays there on some sort of regular basis.

Enuf for now. There's just so many fun places to go and meet others while enjoying the evenings around Abaco.

Guana Beach Resort does a pot luck dinner (bring a dish) every Wed. nite that is fun...watch the sunset and enjoy the local ambiance. We've always had fun when we go!
