Any advice about bringing our dog with us on our next trip to Abaco in Janaury would be much appreciated. I can deal with the airlines. I am looking for info about customs/immigration/health certificates/quarantine/etc. Thanks for any advice or shared experience.

Her is the link for pet importation (http://www.bahamas.com/vacation-planning/pets) and the permit application. (http://www.bahamas.com/sites/default/files/pdf/Bahamas_Application_to_Import_Domestic_Animals_in_ TIOTB.pdf) Just check with your airlines for their pet requirements.

My 16 yr old cat must go to sea with us for 6 months. I am finding out that I need to:
* Take him to his vet and get documentation for a 1yr and 3yr vacinne
* Complete an application and send it to Nassau
*within 48hrs after arrival in the Bahamas, take him to a vet there.
How strict are they about the 48hr vet visit? We will be cruising and might take a week before we arrive at a destination where there is a vet.
Anything else?
My Mo thanks you.

Have never heard of anyone being questioned regarding that. As long as you have the entry docs
and vax you should be fine. For that matter have never heard of anyone actually going to Bahamian Vet within 48 hours...probably somebody has.
