To all Abaconians and visitors,
As many of you may know, there is a current proposal for the conservation of a large area of land south of Bahama Palms Shores (west side of Ernest Dean Highway) from the fire tower south to Crossing Rocks. This proposal has been met with positive feedback from just about everyone we have talked to at town meetings and in person. We have one more town meeting we are trying to set up at the settlement of Crossing Rocks in the near future.

Please check out the current status of our South Abaco Blue Holes Conservation Area (SABHCA) Proposal.

We have great momentum right now with the Bahamas National Trust and but we are still in need of letters of support from prominent Bahamians who use the land, creeks and bays within the proposed area for hunting, fishing and eco-related businesses. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.

Thanks and have a great summer!

so sad. i just received the new Nat. Geo., the cover story features Abaco's blue holes. the Sunday paper mentioned that the photographer, wes skiles, had drowned in a diving accident. can't be many w/his talent & skills in the world of cave diving.
my condolences to brian kakuk, family & friends. cave divers are a pretty tight little group.

There is a great piece in this months National Geographic about the blue holes of the Bahamas, specifically Abaco.

We received our yesterday too, fascinating and of course, the pictures are beautiful. I haven't finished the article yet. I did not hear of the photographer's death, how tragic.

I went on a tour of the Blue Holes and Dry Caves with Brian this winter and it was very educational and fun.He spoke very highly of Wes Skiles and i know this is a big blow to him and the sport.
