Hi all, I am new to the board and this is my first trip to Abaco and have been having a blast. We will be moving from Boat Harbor to Treasure Cay Marina next week and I need some advice. I'm in a power boat that draws 4 ft. Based on the charts it looks like I can make the passage all the way to Treasure on the inside. Is that true or do I need to cut out into the Atlantic? Any help is appreciated.

You do not have to go outside in then Atlantic, leave Boat Harbour come around Matt Lowes Cay and then Point Set Rock and then turn to port and head for Treasure Cay, should be a wide open shot.

That's what it looked like to me. I wasn't sure about shoaling north of Guana. Thank you.

Here is a link to Google Earth data I have on a server. You should be able to open this in Google Earth and see all the tracks I have saved there.

http://home.roadrunner.com/~danmapes/Southbound2.kmz

In particular, once you have all the paths loaded, pick the tracks LtlHrbrToMarshHarbor and MarshToTreasureCay. If you zoom in you should be able to get the idea and migrate that to the charts or nav software to see what we did. We pull 3.5 and had no issues although coming and going at high tide will be more comfortable for you.

You will also see all of the rides we took in the dink. The Hills Creek area was our favorite. Go in a hour before high tide and leave before the tide drops.

Click on the link, then open the kmz and then open the kml. GE should start and you can zoom in on all the tracks.
